I am a full-time husband and father of two, part-time softball
coach, motocross and street bike
rider, car builder, and aspiring
beach bum. I would definitely
describe myself as always needing to
stay active, consistently pushing
myself both mentally and physically.
No matter the pursuit, be it
education, career, athletics, or
even recreation, I seek out
challenges. My interest in martial
arts was sparked by a co-worker late
in my college years. Sadly, it took
15 years to get over the hurdle and
start training.
In the spring of 2004, my daughter expressed an interest in
learning karate. She started with
an after school program and really
enjoyed herself. That summer I
researched many karate studios and
by August decided to move her to
Kreimer’s Karate. I felt that
Kreimer’s Karate offered the best
curriculum of open hand forms,
weapons, and self-defense training.
Two months later I could no longer
just sit and watch class. I signed
myself up and was instantaneously
hooked.
Along with my daughter, I earned my first degree black belt in
July of 2007 at the age of 40. The
training turned out to be an
irreplaceable father daughter
bonding activity. Hearing our names
called and receiving our black belts
from Grand Master Kreimer is a
moment neither of us will ever
forget. Along the way we made some
great friends and bonds that will
last a lifetime.
As a black belt, I continue to train in martial arts as hard as
ever. While helping to keep me
physically and mentally strong, it
also provides a stress relieving
sanctuary. At this point in my life
the only competition I plan on
entering is within myself. Even so,
I realize I have only scratched the
surface of my training, and I am
committed to never stop learning.
You will find me at Kreimer’s Karate teaching wherever and
whenever necessary. I love working
with all the students from kids to
adults, and receive a great deal of
pleasure from passing down my
knowledge and helping others
succeed. Since I am not a full-time
instructor, I always try to bring
something new and energizing to each
class I teach.
